The first word that I can make out is the word brochure. I didn't know what it meant at first, but after I scrolled a little farther, I saw, in large writing "The Bohemian". I believe that this was Whitman's Idea for a newspaper. It was followed by "Saturday press". I can assume that he had an idea to create a newspaper to be delivered on saturdays only. I don't know what other thoughts were behind it, but newspaper that was delivered on saturday would be a great business because it would help people get the information much faster than on sunday. He could also incorporate some of his own works of literature into this for peoples entertainment.
Whitman also had many sketches of himself, and they were all different. He drew them through many lenses, including one with a top hat. I assume that this was a vision of himself as the president. Earlier in his journal I made out the words "Ideas for president elect". I believe that Whitman was putting ideas together on running for president of the United States of America.
After examining why each thing was written, I was very close in my assumption of a newspaper. The Bohemian was a proposed column for the saturday press. Whitman was writing about the king of bohemia and he was proposing this to be included into the newspaper
The Sketch of himself in a top hat was a characature of himself and he drew it through the perspective of dr. seuss. This was very far off from my idea of himself running for president, however it was very interesting to me. It demonstrated Whitman's love of drawing and he did so by drawing himself through many different lenses and used many Ideas to compare himself.
Some good points, but I wish you had looked at other examples in order to provide additional details and support to your thoughts and analysis.
